Forms
Out-of-network
I use a professional platform called Simple Practice for scheduling, payments, records, and documents. My intake form (to learn a bit about you), my legal consent and disclosure form, and a Telehealth (online) counseling agreement will be sent to you automatically after I book your appointment after an email or telephone conversation with you. I do not have online booking for new clients. After a no fee, initial consultation to determine fit, your credit card will be stored securely on this platform as well, to facilitate automatic payments the night after your session.
An out-of-network (OON) provider is a healthcare professional (therapist, doctor, social worker, etc.), who does not hold a contract with your insurance carrier. OON providers are paid directly by clients or patients. They are not beholden to specific rules dictated by the insurance company, such as session time limits, service codes utilized, or diagnoses “covered”. Patients / clients can submit claims and request reimbursement after services have been rendered. The amount for which someone is reimbursed will be dependent on the carrier and the specific plan. For example, not all Premera plans have the same coverage. Each plan has a unique policy.
These are some questions you can ask your insurance carrier when exploring the option of working with an OON provider:
Do I have OON coverage for behavioral health?
What is my OON deductible? (This part is really important to clarify since many plans have a DIFFERENT OON deductible)
Once my deductible has been met, at what percentage does my plan cover OON behavioral health services?
What is the process for submitting superbills for OON compensation? How long will it take?

FAQs
Are you seeing clients in person? For psychotherapy, I currently see clients via online video meetings only, using the Simple Practice platform. In person sessions for Somatic and Spiritual Coaching may be arranged depending on your location.
Do you work with clients outside of Washington State? I offer psychotherapy (assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological conditions) only to residents of the state of Washington. For all others wishing to work with me, I provide somatic coaching, spiritual counseling, guidance, mentorship, and consultation.
What is “Somatic and Spiritual Coaching”? Coaching sessions with Lisa Elliott are offered in the form of spiritual mentorship, guidance, coaching, and consulting. These sessions are not psychotherapy, which Lisa provides only to residents of the State of Washington. As such, during the sessions, Lisa will not provide any assessment, diagnosis, or treatment of psychological conditions and disorders.
By scheduling a coaching consultation or session, you acknowledge reading and assenting to this description of the nature and scope of Somatic and Spiritual Coaching sessions with Lisa.
How do I schedule a session? Please email lisa@Selahcounseling.cloud to schedule an appointment or initial phone consult. You will receive a reply within 3 days or less.
How long are sessions? Weekly sessions are 55 minutes. New client consultations are 30 minutes. 90 minute sessions are available as needed.
How often would be meet? My preference is to meet weekly, to establish a rhythm and support the change process. Bi-monthly sessions are available, but not advised except for established clients. Some work is best done with greater frequency, with sessions twice a week.
What populations do you work with? I work with all individuals, including those with diverse and marginalized identities, who are experiencing stress, trauma, depression, grief & loss, and a wide range of issues. I am not a trained addictions specialist, and approach this as a coping strategy for stress and trauma.
Do you work with multiple partners in a relationship? Yes. This includes individuals and two-person relationships (partners, friends, siblings, parent and child). I enjoy working with your experience of many different forms of relationships in individual work as well. Sometimes I will recommend individual work prior to beginning relational work. Concurrent individual work is ideal.
Do you work with young children? I do not. My focus is on supporting the adults who provide the relational environment for our young ones.
What is your approach? The short answer is that I am a “somatic and transpersonal psychotherapist”, which means I work with the whole person, including the ways past experiences have imprinted in your body, and they ways they arise in sensations now. We are able to address experiences held in the body, as well as in the mind, by working with sensation and movement. I also practice “transpersonally”, with embodied empathy and embodied presence. This can be understood via the neuroscience and lived experience of how we affect each other through our embodiment, or as the spirituality of transcendent connection. Somatic parts work, which moves past, unintegrated experiences into present awareness, is also an important part of my work.
